Mwenge Catholic University Health Centre
Guidance and Counseling services are both developmental in approach and inclusive in nature. The services are “one-on-one,” “face-to-face,” and “open-ended” problem solution within which one with professional assistance can offload one’s fears, frustrations, confusion, and concerns in confidence and trust ways. Guidance and Counseling services are intended to help all students and their assistants realize their full potential regardless of educational, physical, social, emotional, professional, and worldwide societal changes. It is due to this awareness that Mwenge Catholic University (MWECAU) has established Guidance and Counseling Unit to fill the gap and increase opportunities for success in the lives of all its community members, including students, faculty and staff.
People seek our services because initiating and remaining in the service is confidential; and we offer services that are appropriate to all MWECAU community members. Our services are walk-in basis, just come and you will be listened to and assisted. Or you may wish to make an appointment. The services are free of charge. Our Professional Counselors are non-judgmental, compassionate, and experienced helpers, and advocate for equal opportunities according to each individual’s need. The MWECAU Counselors are really the staff for everyone! And you should meet them! If you are looking for someone to simply listen to you in a confidential and non-judgmental way or someone to just offer you a possible way out of a painful and complex experience or situation, then, come and meet them. The atmosphere of the Counselor’s office and understanding reflected there encourage counselees to face their problems and to give sincere expression to their feelings.
The benefits of Guidance and Counseling services include providing the MWECAU community members with opportunities to look objectively at their problems, gain insights from which intelligent action may be taken, plan logically for the future and make personal gains in the self-actualization process.
